32 new container ship orders call for MacGREGOR hatch covers

MacGREGOR – part of Cargotec Corporation – has secured new orders worth close to €10 million for 32 shipsets of lift-away hatch covers destined for container ships under construction in Japan and South Korea
During the second quarter of 2009, MacGREGOR received orders from a Japanese shipyard and various South Korean yards that will see the company supply lift-away hatch covers for a total of 32 container ships that range in size from 2,500 TEU to 12,600 TEU. MacGREGOR has unrivalled experience in developing marine cargo handling and offshore load-handling solutions, and is part of Cargotec Corporation, the world's leading provider of cargo handling solutions used in local transportation, terminals, ports, distribution centres, and ships.
These contracts include:
• the design and key component delivery of lift-away covers for 30 ships on order at South Korean shipyards for three European owners (five of these also include fixed container fittings as well).
• the design, key components and manufacture of lift-away hatch covers for two container vessels on order at a Japanese yard for Japanese owners.
MacGREGOR will deliver these orders from 2010 through to 2012.
